Police Commissioner's Daughter Says Abuse Allegations Are A Lie
Tiffany White told GBH the 1999 allegations levied by her mother against Dennis White are false.

BOSTON — The daughter of Boston Police Commissioner Dennis White is calling the 1999 domestic abuse allegations plaguing him false.
Tiffany White told GBH Monday her mother, who at the time was married to Dennis White, lied about the allegations. Tiffany White said she never saw her father be violent toward her mother.
"I can 100 percent guarantee everything on my soul — I would put that on the line — that man has never hit my mother" as long as she lived with them, she told GBH. Any aggressive behavior in the home came from her mother, she said.

Dennis White has been on leave since Feb. 3, just two days after he was sworn in as commissioner. Mayor Marty Walsh said he was unaware of the decades-old allegations, which resulted in a restraining order against White.
The Boston Globe first reported the allegations, prompting the response from City Hall.

White replaced William Gross, who abruptly retired, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. Gross has since told the Globe he discovered a significant health concern.
The city has authorized an independent investigation into the allegations against White.
