When: 9:30 p.m., June 26
After having to cancel in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic, Braintree Day comes back on June 26 with a bang — quite literally. Sean Power, the chair of the Braintree July 4th Celebration Committee, said the committee spent more on fireworks than it ever has in the event's history.
Before the fireworks, other mainstays are coming back too, including live music and food trucks at Braintree High School. Music at the high school includes Aerosmith tribute band, Draw the Line, and local country group, The Jake Ash Band.
What: Braintree Day Parade
Where: Parking lot of the Registry of Motor Vehicles/Bayshore Athletic Club on Plain Street.
When: 11:45 a.m., June 26
The Braintree Day celebration kicks off with a parade beginning in the parking lot of the Registry of Motor Vehicles/Bayshore Athletic Club on Plain Street and ending at Hollis Elementary School.
Here's the parade route:
- Right out of the parking lot onto Plain Street.
- Right onto Hancock Stand.
- North on Hancock Street through South Braintree Square.
- Straight as Hancock St becomes Washington Street.
- Ends at the Hollis School
