Bates Bar And Grill At The Landing Now Open

BRAINTREE, MA — An longtime member of the Weymouth Landing has something new for the area.

Town officials joined the Sarras family for Thursday's opening of Bates Bar and Grill at 2 Commercial St. The new restaurant occupies the space which was once home to the Landing Pub and Ultimate Pizza.

"On behalf of the Town of Braintree, we want to thank the Sarras family for their investment into the Landing. This is another step towards the revitalization of the area," Mayor Joseph Sullivan said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. "I think we've demonstrated once again with cooperation we can make some real progress.

Bates Bar and Grill is one component of the commercial redevelopment taking place on the Braintree side of the landing. Nearby, new apartments have been built and will be available to lease in the near future. What will happen on the Weymouth side remains to be seen.

Bates Bar and Grill is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
