Braintree Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Will Be A Drive-In Event
Hot chocolate and treats will be distributed to you in your vehicle while you listen to your favorite Christmas songs.
BRAINTREE, MA — The coronavirus pandemic isn't going to stop Braintree's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, but there's going to be some differences.
The lighting is scheduled for 5 p.m., Saturday outside Town Hall, but this year it will be a drive-in event. Limited space is available and sign up is required.
The town hall parking lot will open at 4 p.m. for those who have signed up. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendees must remain in their vehicles throughout the duration of the event. Hot chocolate and treats will be distributed to you in your vehicle while you listen to your favorite Christmas songs.

This year's drive is going to be a drive-in event, and the drive is collecting gift cards instead of toys to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 due to several people handling toys.
The drive benefits the Marge Crispin Center's efforts to assist Braintree families in need this holiday season.
