BRAINTREE, MA — Quincy doesn't have a brewery, but one in a neighboring town will give the city a taste of the craft beer experience weekly during the summer months. Starting this week, every Wednesday this summer, Braintree's Widowmaker Brewing will open a beer garden at the Adams Pub in Quincy. The beer garden, located at 29 Hancock St., will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., every Wednesday at the pub's gazebo overlooking the Neponset River.

Widowmaker will bring 16-ounce pours of some of its most popular craft beers to the Quincy community and live music, as well as a new beer, brewed specifically for Wednesday. The beer is called a "Gazebo Night" and it's an IPA brewed with simcoe and citra hops.

Widowmaker President Ryan Lavery said he's been trying to find an ideal spot in Quincy for months, since the brewery already has a following in the city. Although Lavery said the brewery isn't a Quincy brewery, he said the brewery has a "great presence in local bars." He said the event is kind of a way to be a "psuedo brewery" for the city.
