Braintree Collecting Clothes For Family Displaced By House Fire

A Braintree family of two lost their Granite Street home in a fire that caused the roof to collapse.

BRAINTREE, MA — The community is rallying around a Braintree family that lost their home in fire Wednesday morning.

Members of the Braintree Community Task Force said they're collecting new clothes and gift cards to help the displaced family of two.

The fire started around 1 a.m., on Granite Street at a house across from the South Shore Plaza. Fire officials said two adults were inside the home when the fire broke, but they got out safely on their own. No injuries were reported, but the family became displaced, because of the damage the house sustained during the fire, including the roof collapsing.
