Braintree Could Get A Dog Day Care, Spa
The town council approved zoning changes to allow Braintree resident Dan Farmer to open a dog day care/training facility in town.
BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Town Council last week unanimously approved several zoning changes that would allow the opening of a luxury dog daycare and spa.
Currently, the town's zoning bylaws don't allow dog day cares and boarding facilities, but pending additional approval from the planning board, Dan Farmer, of Peach Street, may get an exception.
Farmer told the board last Tuesday he wants the business to offer boarding, day car, grooming, training and indoor and outdoor play areas for the dogs. He told the board his business would be unlike any other dog day care on the South Shore.

"They do not meet the needs of today's dog owner who wants to spoil their dog," Farmer told the council.
The planning board endorsed the zoning changes in Braintree's commercial and business districts via a special permit. The board would have to give Farmer a special permit and approve his site plan before he could open.

Farmer told the Patriot Ledger he's still deciding what site would be the best place for his dog day care, and he hopes to have that finalized soon.
