Braintree Day 4th of July Celebration Goes Virtual

Take part in the virtual Braintree Day Fourth of July celebration, show your patriotism, and you could win a gift card to a local restaurant

BRAINTREE, MA — Despite the coronavirus pandemic canceling the Braintree Day Parade and other Fourth of July celebrations, organizers want residents to show their patriotic pride virtually.

The July 4th Celebration Committee wants to see residents' displays and decorations that show everything they love about Braintree and the United States.

"Let's show our pride for our country and community and that our resiliency will carry us through these difficult times," Committee member Sean Powers said.

Beginning Saturday and going through the Fourth of July weekend, residents are encouraged to take a picture of their holiday displays and post them to social media with the hashtag "BraintreeDay2020. Selfies sporting your pest red, white and blue attire are also welcome and strongly encouraged.

Residents that participate could win a gift card to a Braintree restaurant if their post gets the most likes or is selected by the committee.
