Braintree Getting A New Traffic Signal At South Street

Construction is slated for the end of summer 2021.

BRAINTREE, MA — A traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Route 37 and South Street in Braintree, town officials announced Wednesday.

The construction will be completed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and is still in the design phase, Mayor Charles Kokoros said. Construction is slated for the end of summer 2021.

"The installation of this traffic signal is personal to me, and I am grateful to the MassDOT and
Representative Mark Cusack for helping this come to fruition,"Kokoros said in a statement. "This
project will enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety and better manage traffic flow in this high
traveled area."
