Braintree High School Varsity Dance Team Honored

BOSTON, Massachusetts June 27, 2018: Braintree High School’s Varsity Dance Team was honored at the Massachusetts State House on June 27, 2018. State Senators Walter Timilty and John Kennan presented each team member with an Official Citation from the Commonwealth for their exceptional talent and achievement throughout the year. In addition, the team was given a personal tour by State Representative Mark Cusack.

The team was invited to the Massachusetts State House in recognition of their accomplishments throughout this 2017-2018 High School Varsity Dance Season. The Varsity team placed 1st in both the Fall and the Winter MSSAA State Championships followed by 1st in the POM Division at the New England Championships in Shelburne, Vermont. The team performed unprecedented Jazz routines during the season and despite increased competition at each event the Braintree High School Dance team worked hard and prevailed.

Coach Campbell states, “Being recognized on this level for our efforts throughout the year was truly an amazing experience. One we are extremely grateful for.” The seniors who led the team to victory this year were: Olivia Bonfiglioli, Hailey Wadland (C), Destinee Alix-Garth(C), Tessa Murphy (C), Francesca Graceffa (C), Aine Joyce, and Shayna Hanaphy.
