Braintree Opens Cooling Center
Residents looking to beat the heat can head over to the department of elder affairs.

BRAINTREE, MA — Need to escape the heatwave? The Town of Braintree has a cooling center to help you with that.
With a heat advisory in place, the town has opened a cooling center at the department of elder affairs at 71 Cleveland Ave. It will be open Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents are also advised to check on their elderly neighbors and pets.

A break in the heat is not expected following a weekend in the 90's. Monday's temperature is expected to reach a high of 91 degrees and Tuesday could get as hot as 93. Independence Day and Thursday could also see days in the low 90's and Friday may be the first day under 90 in a week, according to the National Weather Service.
