Braintree Police Help DEA With Massive Fentanyl, Cocaine Bust

According to police, $20,000 worth of fentanyl and $7,000 worth of cocaine were seized.

HOLBROOK, MA — Braintree officers helped Holbrook police and DEA agents in a massive drug bust Thursday morning.

Police said they have arrested two Holbrook residents and seized 201 grams of fentanyl, 67.5 grams of cocaine, 48 clozapine pills and nearly $2,000 in cash.

Randy Carvajal, 27, and Elizabeth Valentin, 44, were charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine and possession of a class E drug.

Around 6 a.m., Holbrook, Braintree, Quincy and Randolph police, along with help from federal agents, executed a search warrant at a Union Street home in Holbrook.

Police said the search came following a several-week investigations launched after police received tips about drug deals in the community. According to police, $20,000 worth of fentanyl and $7,000 worth of cocaine were seized. Police said they also seized two vehicles.

"I would like to thank the Braintree, Quincy, Weymouth and Randolph Police Departments and DEA Task Force for their assistance, and commend the officers of the Holbrook Police Department for their work in taking these drugs off the street,” Holbrook Police Chief William Smith said. "It is a perfect example of multiple departments working together to make our communities a safer place for all."

Both Carvajal and Velntin are expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
