BRAINTREE, MA — Town Council took a short break from the issues Tuesday night to honor two athletically gifted groups of girls. The council hosted the Braintree High School girls basketball team and the fourth grade girls travel team to congratulate both on winning state championships.

The ceremony was especially special for Town Councilor David Ringius, who coached the fourth graders to victory, a team which included his daughter Autumn.

"Some meetings are more enjoyable than others..." Ringius said. "The future of girls basketball in Braintree is bright, but seeing the joy on every players' face is greater than knowing that."
