Dog Found Starved, In Conditions 'Beyond Explanation’
The dog has been removed from her home and a GoFundMe has been started to pay her medical bills.

BRAINTREE, MA — For Suzanne DiGiammo Rayberg and her husband, seeing their neighbor's dog Brandy was a regular joy that included routine visits and dog sitting whenever needed. However, there were only tears when Rayberg recently found the dog in poor shape.
Rayberg, who rescued Brandy from the home and took her to Veterinary Centers of America - Weymouth, has started a GoFundMe for her four-legged friend. A day into the fundraiser, she has received over $5,500 in donations, surpassing the goal of $4,500.
Rayberg wrote that she recently began to notice neither the homeowner nor Brandy were leaving the house. She wasn't able to get much information from her neighbor.

"Food from the grocery store was being delivered and taken in, but we couldn't get in and they never seemed to come out," Rayberg wrote.
Rayberg finally stopped by the house Sunday and found the dog in a living situation she described as "beyond explanation." The owner appeared to be in a poor physical and mental state, she said.

"We kept it cool and calm, but we were dying inside seeing her health and living conditions. We could barely breathe," Rayberg wrote.
With the permission of Brandy's owner, Rayberg and her husband took the dog to the hospital. Veterinarians concluded Brandy was starved. While the road to recovery will be difficult, it appears she's going to make it, according to Rayberg.
The ex-wife of Brandy's owner has been notified of the situation and will live with the dog in Texas if she survives everything.
