Driver Injured After Crashing Jeep Into Utility Pole

BRAINTREE, MA — Someone driving a Jeep struck a utility pole on Granite Street Sunday morning, according to police.

Around midnight, police were called to the area of five corners after getting reports of a speeding driver crashing their Jeep. Police said the driver hit the pole and came to a rest on the side of Bertucci's.

After the crash, the driver ran away but was found and taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Traffic on Granite Street had to be detoured until 11 a.m. while the Braintree Electric Light Department replaced the pole.
