Drunken Man Hits Police Cruiser, Truck In Braintree Crash: MSP
A Stoughton man working at a construction site on Route 3 was injured in the crash.
BRAINTREE, MA — A Stoughton road worker was injured Sunday in a crash in Braintree when a drunken driver going the wrong way on Route 3 struck a police cruiser and a work truck, Massachusetts State Police said.
Christopher Fay, 24, of Abington, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and a wrong way violation.
Just after 5 a.m., Fay was driving north on the southbound side of the highway when police said he struck the police cruiser and a contractor truck, both stationed at a construction site.

The contractor, a 53-year-old Stoughton man, was taken to South Shore Hospital with minor injuries. Police said the state trooper was not injured in the crash.
Police said Fay suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to South Shore Hospital. He was expected to be released Sunday.

The crash took about two hours for State Police to clear.
