Expect Weekend Lane Closures On I-93 In Braintree, Quincy, Boston
MassDOT will be conducting median barrier replacement work on the highway.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that crews will be continuing median barrier replacement work on sections of Interstate 93 in Boston, Quincy, and Braintree beginning on Friday evening, and continuing throughout the weekend. These operations will mean overnight and off-peak temporary lane closures in order to allow crews to safely and effectively conduct operations.
The work will occur on I-93 north and southbound between Columbia Road and the interchange with Route 3 in Braintree. The approximate hours for the overnight and off-peak lane closures on I-93 north and southbound will be as follows:

Friday, Aug. 24, to Saturday, Aug. 25
- From 8 to 11 p.m., on Friday: A single lane closures
- From 11 p.m Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday: Double lane closures
- From 6 a.m., until 11 a.m. Saturday: Single lane closures
- After 11 a.m. Saturday: All lanes of travel open.
Saturday, August 25, to Sunday, August 26

- From 8 to 11 p.m Saturday: A single lane closures
- From 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday: Double lane closures
- From 6 a.m., until 11 a.m., on Sunday, August 26: Single lane closures
- After 11 a.m., on Sunday, August 26: All lanes of travel open.
Sunday, August 26, to Monday, August 27
- From 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday: Single lane closures on Interstate 93 South.
- From 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday: Double lane closure on Interstate 93 South.
- From midnight to 5 a.m. Monday: Single lane closure on Interstate 93 North.
- After 5 a.m. Monday: All lanes of travel open.
Signage and messaging will be in place to notify drivers of these operations. MassDOT encourages the public to be mindful of potential traffic impacts. Those traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution. The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
