Police Identify 2 Killed In Braintree Crash

Two people in their 20s were killed in a collision on Granite Street, according to Braintree police.

BRAINTREE, MA — Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Granite Street Wednesday morning, according to police. The crash temporarily closed Granite Street and forced detours for Braintree High School students on their way to school.

Around 4 a.m., emergency officials were called to the 600th block of Granite Street and found a mangled pickup truck in the road and a sedan in the woods, police said.

Police said two occupants in the sedan were killed: Bryan Davila Martinez, 23, and Jan Rivera, 20, both of Randolph Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene, while Martinez died at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. The pickup truck driver was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the pick-up truck was traveling southbound before colliding with the driver of the sedan, who was traveling northbound. The crash happened in the pick-up truck's travel lane, according to police.
