Fire Ravages Through Braintree Insurance Business

Frye Agency sustained significant damage during a large fire Tuesday morning.

BRAINTREE — MA — A fire ravaged a Braintree insurance business on Washington Street Tuesday morning.

Around 2 a.m., fire officials were called to Frye Agency and found heavy flames and smoke coming from the building. Deputy Fire Chief Timothy Starkey told WHDH that the fire's roaring heat forced firefighters to battle the flames from outside the building.

No injuries were reported, but the building sustained significant damage, fire officials said.

Greg Blume and Peter Carloni have owned the real estate and insurance business since 2012. The owners told WCVB that despite the damage, most, if not all the Frye Agency's records — including those in paper files and computer back up- were salvaged.

Fire officials said they are working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
