Flood Watch, Wind Advisory Issued for Braintree
Expect slow driving, high winds, and lots of rain Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

BRAINTREE, MA — It could be a wet and windy commute home Monday afternoon and evening, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.
The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Braintree, effective Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Heavy rain is expected during this period and most areas can expect between 2-3 inches of rain.
The town will also be under a Coastal Flood Advisory from 6-10 p.m. and Coastal Flood Watch from, 5-11 a.m. Tuesday morning. A Coastal Flood Watch is issued when there is a chance of moderate or major coastal flooding. The advisory is issued when there is a chance of minor coastal flooding.

A Wind Advisory has also been issued and is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday. The NWS says to expect winds of 17-24 mph with gusts of up to 49 mph Monday night. The wind is expected to continue into Tuesday with a speed of 10-17 mph and gusts as high as 47 mph.
Drivers should expect slower than usual communes Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. The NWS warns drivers to never drive through a flooded roadway.
