Mourners Remember Braintree Native Killed in Taunton Hit-and-Run
A candlelight vigil was held in memory of 36-year-old Braintree native Michael Alfano

TAUNTON, MA — A Braintree native who was killed while riding his bike in Taunton was remembered by friends and family over the weekend.
A candlelight vigil was held in Taunton Saturday in memory of 36-year-old Michael Alfano, who was struck by a driver earlier this month. Those who gathered did so at a light pole in front of St. Mary’s Elementary School, according to the Taunton Gazette.
The night started in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms on Broadway where about 50 people released balloons into the sky before walking to Mayflower Hill Cemetery.

Alfano was on his bike when 19-year-old Cecily Kilsby-Munafo allegedly struck him and drove away, dragging part of his bike under her SUV. Alfano remained in the intersection Broadway and Washington Street. He was taken to Morton Hospital with head injuries and flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he died.
Kisby-Mufano and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ryan O’Day, both face charges in court for the alleged incident.

According to his obituary, Alfano was born and raised in in Braintree and was a tattoo artist.
He is survived by his children Michael, Ava and has a child on the way. He is also survived by his parents Steven Alfano of Scituate and Caryn (Wiles) Alfano of Braintree; his siblings Cristyn, Stephen, Mary, Katherine, and Zachary; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
