Shuttle busses will replace the Red Line between Braintree and Quincy Center MBTA stations for two weeks starting Thursday.

BRAINTREE, MA – Shuttle busses will replace the Red Line between Braintree and Quincy Center MBTA stations for two weeks starting Thursday in order to allow construction crews to work on multiple projects, the MBTA has announced.
The schedule change will allow crews to conduct Red Line maintenance and South Shore Garage construction simultaneously.
On weekdays from June 18-July 1, riders can travel on the Commuter Rail between Braintree and South Station for $2.40, the same as subway or Zone 1A fare. Riders can show their CharlieCards or CharlieTickets to the Commuter Rail conductor.

After the work is completed on the tracks, trains will be running at reduced speeds so crews can monitor the tracks to ensure they settle properly.
