Skate Park Could Get Rebuilt In Braintree

The Braintree skate park first opened in 1999, and as of now, the plan is to demolish the existing park and build an entirely new one.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Recreation Department began exploring plans to rebuild the Messiona Skate Park at Braintree High School. Department officials said they want public input on the project and will be hosting a brainstorming meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9. Representatives from the American Ramp Company will also be in attendance.

The skate park first opened in 1999, and as of now, the plan is to demolish the existing park and build an entirely new one.

"Our skate park is now 20 years of age and well used," Mayor Joseph Sullivan said in a statement. "We want public input as we create a new skate park experience for our residents."
