Thanksgiving Football: Braintree Wamps Face Milton Wildcats

BRAINTREE, MA — The Wamps are set to hit the gridiron at Milton against the Wildcats on Thanksgiving, a tradition that started in 1920. Despite breaks from 1923 to 1930 and in 1936 and 1940,the game has been an annual tradition, with 89 Thanksgiving games played between the two teams.

The 90th game will see Braintree try to put a 2-8 season behind them and try to upset the 8-1 Wildcats. Milton leads the series, 46-42-1, but over the last few years the Wamps have pushed to settle the score winning seven of the last 11 Thanksgiving games. Last year, Braintree won 35-21 in a decisive victory.

The game starts at 10 a.m. at Milton High School.
