Thayer Public Library Reopening Update — August 2020
We're Looking Forward to Welcoming You Back!
Thank you to all our loyal patrons who have been very patient while we plan our next phase of library services to the community. We know individuals and families are looking forward to using computers and browsing library shelves. All the safety measures are in place. Below is information about our new open hours and changes to our services.
Opening to the Public
We are easing back into service with temporary abbreviated hours and limited services. Beginning Monday, August 10, the Library will be open to the public: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Internet use is available for 45 minutes per day. You may call to make a reservation or walk-ins are welcome providing a computer is available.
We ask that patrons limit their visits to 30 minutes. Our services will be limited. Please read our FAQ for more information.

Curbside service will only be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

You can also place holds online 24/7.
At this time we are unable to offer:
· Meeting rooms
· Seating & Tables
· Café
· Reading Room
· Newspapers
· Toys
· In-library WiFi
· In-library programs
Our book return drop box is now open! Please return all items to our book drops located on the back side of the building. All returned items are placed in quarantine for 72 hours before being put back on shelves or circulated. You will not accrue fines during the time your returns spend in quarantine. Please allow 72 hours before your account shows your items as returned.
We want to remind everyone that due dates have been extended and no fines will be charged for library materials during this health emergency.
The library will not be accepting book donations until further notice.
We will continue to provide virtual programming during the summer months, including the “Imagine Your Story” 2020 Summer Reading Program.
Our online services remain available. Please visit the library website to use our many digital resources.
If you don’t have a library card, you can sign up for an eCard to access many of these services. We are working with database vendors to bring you even more online content while the library building is closed. Check out this selection of products that are now available remotely for a limited time.
