Truck Crash Cuts Power, Temporarily Closes Braintree Stores
While Best Buy was closed, there was a line of about 20 people outside the store waiting to be let in.
BRAINTREE, MA — A truck crashed into some electrical equipment Sunday outside a Braintree shopping plaza, causing power failures and temporarily closing several stores, including Best Buy.
Police said the crash happened around 10:20 a.m. at the Marketplace plaza on Grossman Drive. A woman driving a pickup truck hit a switchgear box on an access road behind Hobby Lobby, police told the Patriot Ledger. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash.
The Braintree Electric Light Department was called to assess the damage and restore power to Best Buy other stores in the plaza. While Best Buy was closed, there was a line of about 20 people outside the store waiting to be let in. Police said power was restored to the area around noon.
