BRAINTREE, MA — A Hull woman was indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury after prosecutors said she ran over her boyfriend with a car in Braintree. Nichole Lachance was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a family or household member, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and witness or police intimidation.
Lachance was arrested in July after police said she struck her boyfriend with her car in the parking lot of the Braintree AMC movie theater, according to the Patriot Ledger. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries including a broken pelvis, two broken legs and a punctured lung, according to a police report filed with the court. Police said security video from the theater showed Lachane driving in circles around her boyfriend before striking him.
The indictments transferred Lachance's case from Quincy District Court to Norfolk Superior Court, where she could face a harsher sentence if convicted.
