Brockton Declares Snow Emergency Ahead Of Storm

During snow emergencies, all on-street parking is banned, but there are municipal lots residents can park in.

BROCKTON, MA — The city declared a snow emergency that will go into effect at 4 p.m. Tuesday.The region is expected to get three to seven inches of snow beginning this afternoon. Forecasters are calling for a messy afternoon commute.

During snow emergencies, all on-street parking is banned, Mayor Bill Carpenter announced. But residents are allowed to park in the following municipal lots:

  • Downtown Parking Garage on corner of Main St. & Crescent St.
  • The parking lot on East side of Montello St. between Crescent & White Ave.
  • Warren Ave lot on West side of Warren Ave. between Belmont and Bartlett St.
  • South Street lot on South St. near Main St. behind gas station
  • Howard School located 837 North Main Street
  • Whitman School located at 25 Manomet Street
  • Edgar's Playground on Dover St.
