Brockton Homicide Suspect Fatally Shot By Officer In Tennessee
Police have been searching for Marvin Veiga, 32, since he was indicted on murder and gun charges in March.
BROCKTON, MA — A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a Brockton man was shot and killed by a police officer in Tennessee early Saturday morning, said Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz in a news release.
Police have been searching for Marvin Veiga, 32, since his indictment in March, said Cruz. Veiga and a second suspect, Takari Elliot, 29, were indicted on murder and gun charges in connection with the shooting death of Manuel Duarte, 25, on October 13, 2020.
Following the murder, arrest warrants were obtained for Elliot and Veiga. Elliot was located and taken into custody, but Veiga was not found. On March 18, Veiga was added to the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section's Most Wanted list.

Elliott, 29, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and is scheduled to appear back in court on May 5.
