Brockton Man Arrested In Mattapan For Firearm Possession: Police

Police say Billy Alexander, 38, was taken into custody following a traffic stop and subsequent search of his vehicle.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man was arrested in Mattapan early Sunday morning on firearm and drug possession charges following a traffic stop, said Boston police in a news release.

Billy Alexander, 38, was pulled over for speeding in the area of 1480 Blue Hill Ave. and allegedly began reaching toward a hunting knife on the front passenger seat, according to police. Officers ordered him to exit the vehicle and he was pat-frisked for additional weapons, but none were found.

While searching the inside of the vehicle, officers found a fanny pack containing a loaded Ruger LCP .380 with four rounds in the magazine, a plastic bag of marijuana, and a digital scale, said police.

Prosecutors say Alexander is facing multiple firearm and drug possession charges and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
