Brockton Public Schools Looking To Delay In Person Learning
The Superintendent is looking to slow down the transition to fully in-person learning until late April.
BROCKTON, MA — Brockton superintendent Micheal Thomas would like to slow down the transition to 100% fully in person learning until after April vacation. He is doing this by seeking a waiver from the state. Over the last month, these students and teachers were testing how a one day a week hybrid model would work.
Micheal Thomas stated that he would like classes to be 50% in person by April 5th and 100% by the time April vacation ends which would be April 26th. With the warmer weather being around, these teachers will have more of of an opportunity take their classes outside which would open up more space for the kids.
The state of Massachusetts has said it will approve only a limited amount of waivers, all waiver requests for elementary schools were due today. For middle schools, the deadline is April 12th.
