Brockton Under Snow Emergency; Expected to Get 12-18 Inches of Snow

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. early Sunday morning.

BROCKTON, MA — If you were hoping that Friday's show would be the last of the winter weather for this weekend, you might not want to look outside starting Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Brockton and Plymouth County. Residents should expect snow to develop in the morning and spread across the region Saturday afternoon and evening, before tapering off overnight, according to the NWS. During the storm, the area could see 12-18 inches of snow.

The warning is in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday morning to 4 a.m. early Sunday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when there is a potential for at least 6 inches of snow in a 12-hour period or 8 or more in a 24-hour period.

Due to the weather, Mayor Bill Carpenter has declared a snow emergency, effective 10 a.m. No street parking will be allowed in the city.
