Brockton's Veterans Day Parade: What To Know

Here's what you need to know about the Veterans Day Parade taking place in Brockton.

BROCKTON, MA — The city will honor its veterans during the Veterans Day Parade and ceremonies scheduled for Monday morning. The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. at the War Memorial on West Elm Street, and Veterans Day activities will take place from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

Here is the parade route and schedule of events:

7:30 a.m. — Officers, firing squad, bugler, mayor and veterans' agent will gather at the VFW lot at Melrose cemetery on Pearl Street

8 a.m. — Legion Parkway: Veterans of All Wars

8:30 a.m. — Korean War and Vietnam War

9:30 a.m. — Parade will form at the War Memorial Building

10 a.m. — Parade will step off, going to West Elm and Newbury streets, to Belmont Street and onto Main Street, continuing to Legion Parkway, then onto Warren Avenue. It then will continue to West Elm Street, concluding at the War Memorial.

10:45 a.m. — War memorial ceremonies will include the presentation of colors, the national anthem, Pledge of Allegiance led by Cadet Commander of JROTC Elizabeth Vinzente, invocation by Brockton Fire Chaplain William McCoy, opening remarks by Veterans Service Officer David Farrell, proclamation by Mayor Moises Rodrigues, a silent tribute with the laying of the wreath, VFW Volley Salute, VFW Taps and "Amazing Grace" by Brockton Pipe & Drum.
