Campaign to Bring Horse Racing Back to Brockton Dealt a Setback
The state's Gaming Commission voted to not fund the operating costs of the fairgrounds.

BROCKTON, MA — It's been 15 years since horses raced in Brockton and a return is not looking good after Wednesday.
The state's Gaming Commission voted to not fund the operating costs of the fairgrounds, according to WBUR. About $400,000 of the $1.5 million request was approved. The funds that were approved are for training and stalling.
The money would have come from the state's Race Horse Development Fund.
