Fuller Craft Museum Presents Bartram’s Boxes Remix

Bartram's Boxes Remix, in Brockton, is a collaborative project between The Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia and Bartram's Garden.

From the Fuller Craft Museum: A Reception will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Panel discussion at 3:00 pm about the history of Bartram’s Boxes Remix and artist responses to work in the exhibition. The panel will be moderated by Albert LeCoff, Director of The Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia with artists Mitch Ryerson, Amy Forsyth, Michael Brolly, and Fred Rose.

Bartram’s Boxes Remix is a collaborative project between The Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia and Bartram’s Garden, home of famed 18th century explorer and botanist John Bartram. The pieces in this traveling exhibition reference the boxes containing seeds, plants, and curiosities that John Bartram sent back to his colleagues and clients in England. The show includes sculptural objects and installations created out of salvaged wood and other materials found in Bartram’s Garden. This exhibition is sponsored by the Caroline R. Graboys Fund. The panel discussion on January 22, about the history of the project and artist responses to work in the exhibition, will be moderated by Albert LeCoff, Director of The Center for Art in Wood with artists Mitch Ryerson, Amy Forsyth, Fred Rose, and Michael Brolly. Reception is included with admission fee. Panel: $7 ($15 Nonmembers)
