Man Accused Of Murder In Fatal Brockton Shooting
Prosecutors say Witchael Normil fled to the Dominican Republic after killing a person in Brockton in 2019.

BROCKTON, MA — A man who prosecutors say fled to the Dominican Republic after fatally shooting a man in Brockton in 2019 has been indicted on murder charges, said Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz in a news release Friday.
Witchael Normil, 25, is facing one count each of Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Subsequent Offense, and Armed Career Criminal Level 2, said Cruz.
Prosecutors say Normil shot and killed Marshawn A. Potts, 26, of Brockton on the evening of December 13, 2019. An arrest warrant was obtained for Normil following the murder and he was located and placed in custody by U.S. Marshals in the Dominican Republic in October 2020. Normil was immediately deported to New York and taken into custody as a Fugitive From Justice.
