Rockland Man Charged With Murdering Estranged Wife

Allen Warner will be charged in the death of his wife Shana Warner, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz announced.

WHITMAN, MA — The manhunt for a person who police say killed his estranged wife Monday evening is over, according to reports.

Allen Warner, 47, of Rockland was arrested on Industrial Way in Whitman at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday. He has been booked at the Marshfield Police Department and will be charged with murdering his wife, 48-year-old Shana Warner of Marshfield, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz announced at a press conference late Tuesday afternoon.

Shana Warner was found Monday evening in her vehicle shortly after she called 911, saying she was being pursued. Authorities then announced a search for her husband. She was found in her car on Route 3A in Marshfield around 5:51 p.m. Monday. She was pronounced dead less than hour later at South Shore Hospital.

The next day, police responded to a report of a hit and run at a Dunkin' Donuts in Whitman. Video of the crash showed that a flatbed truck from T&K Asphalt Services was involved in the crash and left the scene. When the officer went to the business to inquire about the truck, Warner drove by and was placed under arrest, Cruz said.

"In the course of the last 24 hours there was a tremendous response by law enforcement and public safety to this terrible and tragic situation," Cruz said.

Allen Warner is due to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court Wednesday. More details of his arrest are expected to be released at that time.

The Boston Globe reported Shana Warner filed for divorce three times, most recently on May 2.
