Metro South Chamber To Host 106th Annual Meeting, Business Expo

BROCKTON, MA — The Metro South Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to host its 106th Annual Meeting and Business Expo on Nov. 20. The event will feature keynote speaker Bill Cummings, an entrepreneur who despite growing up poor, became one of the wealthiest people in Massachusetts. Participants are encouraged to buy their tickets early.

The Chamber's Business-2-Business expo will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by the luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. The business expo will then resume from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both the expo and the luncheon will take place in the multipurpose auditorium at Teen Challenge, located at 1315 Main St. in Brockton.

Cummings is an entrepreneur and author who turned into a billion-dollar philanthropist, according to the Chamber.

"Born during America's Great Depression, Bill Cummings grew up poor, but through a series of highly successful business ventures, became one of the wealthiest individuals in Massachusetts and, more importantly, one of the most prolific philanthropists in Massachusetts history," according to the Chamber.

In 2018, Cummings released his self-written memoir, "Starting Small and Making It Big: An Entrepreneur's Journey to Billion-Dollar Philanthropist." The memoir includes thoughtful reflections on the lessons he has learned about business entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

In addition to Cummings being a featured speaker, the Chamber's Annual Meeting will include awards, special giveaways, raffles, music and entertainment.

As part of the business expo, presenters will have opportunities to promote their companies to hundreds of other business people.

Tickets to the Chamber's Annual Meeting and Business Expo are $100 for members and $135 for non-members.
