MIAA Basketball Tournament: Brockton Tournament Births

BROCKTON, MA - The Brockton Boxers are set to make a run at the basketball state title as the 2016 MIAA Division 1 South pairings have just been announced.

Finishing the regular season with a record of 13-7, the 12th-seeded boys’ basketball team will start their postseason run with a first round showdown at No. 5 Marshfield on March 2 at 6:30 p.m. The winner moves on to the quarterfinals to face the winner of No. 4 Mansfield vs. No. 13 New Bedford.

On the girls’ side, the 11th seeded 10-10 Boxers will play No. 6 Mansfield in the first round on Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. Newton South awaits the winner in the next round.

The winner of the Division 1 South tournament will play the winner of the North bracket for a shot at the state championship.
