Blizzard Warning Issued for Brockton

The area could see 12-18 inches of snow.

BROCKTON, MA - As the area continues to clean up from Friday’s storm, a Blizzard Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Brockton and Plymouth County.

As of Sunday afternoon, Brockton is projected to get 12-18 inches of snow through Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow will start early Monday morning, continuing through dawn and the rest of the day. The NWS warns that the snow could be heavy at times.

The chance of snow during the day is 90 percent, lowering to 80 percent during the evening. There is a 50 percent chance of snow Tuesday, 40 percent chance Wednesday, and 30 percent chance Thursday.

Coming for the snow is a northeast wind of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts of up to 65 mph.

A Blizzard Warning is issued when sustained winds or frequent gusts over 35 mph are expected with considerable falling, blowing, or drifting snow. Visibility will become poor with whiteout conditions at times, according to the NWS.

Those going outside may become lost or disorients. Residents are advices to stay indoors.
