BROCKTON, MA- Dong Lee, 50, plead guilty to robbing five banks throughout Massachusetts from September 8th-14th, 2018. Lee was assisted by Charles Wheeler, 48, who has been sentenced to seven years in prison after he plead guilty to his crimes.
Lee and Wheeler led the police on a high speed chase through Attleboro after they robbed their fifth bank in six days. The men stole a white sedan prior to robbing the fifth bank, which a witness was able to copy the license plate and notify the police. A state trooper on route 1 in Foxboro noticed the vehicle and pursued the men.
The vehicle crashed off of route 1 and the two men fled into the woods. Lee was caught in the woods but Wheeler managed to get away and steal another vehicle resulting in a second high speed chase. Wheeler was eventually caught and taken into custody.
