Brockton Man Wanted On Kidnapping Charges
Police are issuing a warrant for a Brockton man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping days before setting the victim's home on fire.
BROCKTON, MA — Police are looking for a Brockton man accused of violating a restraining order when he went to the victims home and set fire to it.
Police say Laroy Cox, 48, of Brockton, violated the restraining order less than a week after pleading guilty to assault and kidnapping charges in court. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, arson of a dwelling, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, and violation of a restraining order.
Cox pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, larceny under $1,200, and witness intimidation in Plymouth Superior Court on May 17.

Prior to that, Cox served seven months in the House of Corrections and was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to stay away from the victim and have to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet.
Probation officials say they were able to track Cox to the scene because of the GPS monitoring bracelet, that they say he cut off sometime after the fire and once again tried to get in contact with the victim.

Brockton Police and Probation officials sought and have now obtained a warrant for Cox’s arrest.
The fire is being investigated by Brockton Police, Brockton Fire and Massachusetts State Police.
