Brookline's most prominent local philanthropist will be honored for her contributions this fall at the annual gala of the Brookline High 21st Century Fund, a program aimed at developing innovative local responses to the challenges facing public high schools in the U.S.
The owner of a successful real estate firm in Brookline Village, Chobee Hoy has sat on the board of nearly every locally oriented non-profit in Brookline, from the Brookline Community Foundation to the Coolidge Corner Theatre. She can be found at nearly every community event in town and her firm regularly shares advertising space with local non-profits trying to get their message out.
"Chobee is an inspiration to us all β if there is an important cause or community event, Chobee is there," said Carol Kopelman, a member of the fund's board of directors. "Now it is our turn to thank her for all she has done for the high school and for the greater Brookline community."

The gala will also honor Brookline High teacher Robert Grant for his leadership in the 21st Century Fund's Teachers Mentoring Teachers project, which is aimed retaining the school's teachers through comprehensive mentoring programs.
The 10th annual gala will be held Nov. 13 in Brookline High's Schluntz Gymnasium, which organizers plan to transform into the "Bee's Knees Speakeasy." The event serves as a major fund-raising opportunity for the fund.
