22 Percent Of Brookline Residents Have Gotten A Vaccine Dose
Seniors have received the most vaccinations per capita.
BROOKLINE, MA β Twenty-two percent of the town's some 64,700 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday.
The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Brookline, where those 75 or older have received the most vaccinations per capita, despite making up just 7 percent of the city's population. Seventy percent of those 75 and older have received at least one dose, while 54 percent of them are fully vaccinated.
Fifty percent of those 65-74 have received at least one dose while 17 percent are fully vaccinated. That group only makes up 10 percent of all the fully vaccinated people in Brookline, a number far outpaced by the 30-49 age group.

Overall, 14,145 of the 64,727 residents in Brookline have received at least one dose and 9,408 are fully vaccinated, or 15 percent of residents.

The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed Brookline has seen a slight uptick in cases for the second week in a row, though it's still considered a green community, or low risk for the coronavirus.
The positive test rate rose from .70 percent to .81 percent, while the average daily incidence rate per 100,000 also rose from 22.3 to 27.9.
There were 89 confirmed cases in the past two weeks, bringing the number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 1,941.
