Commission for Women Seeking Nominations for Brookline Woman of the Year

Nominations for the 2011 Brookline Woman of the Year are now being accepted by the Brookline Commission for Women. Nominees must live or work in Brookline. The Woman of the Year will be honored on Wednesday, March 30th, at an awards ceremony in Hunneman Hall as part of the 19th Annual Women Who Inspire Us Essay Contest and Awards Ceremony.

Nominations can be emailed to BCW@town.brookline.ma.us or mailed to the Brookline Police Department, c/o Casey Hatchett, 350 Washington Street, Brookline, MA 02445. Please be sure to include your name and contact information, name of the woman you are nominating and her contact information, a brief narrative about why she should be awarded this honor, and two references for the nominee. (Nomination form is attached)

Past award recipients include: Molly Paul (former director of the
Brookline Community Foundation), Hsiu-Lan Chang (community activist and local small business owner), Vicki Millstein (Principal of BEEP and pioneer for early education), Patricia Norling (domestic violence advocate and founder of the Jennifer A Lynch Committee Against Domestic Violence) and Susan Howards (discrimination and domestic violence advocate and local attorney).

The event is sponsored by the Brookline Commission for Women in
celebration of Women's National History Month and is supported by a grant from the Brookline Community Foundation. Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 4, 2010.ο»Ώ
