Brookline Arrests: Drunken Drivers, Shrimp Shoplifters and Badly Behaved Bikers

Reports for Aug. 9 - 15

The following reports detail Brookline Police Department arrests from Aug. 9 - 15. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Tuesday, Aug. 10
  • Badly Behaved Bikers – Howard Smiley Latimer Jr., 17, of 391 Highland Ave., Apt. 2, Malden, was arrested around 10 p.m. near Beacon and Kent streets and charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute, possession of burglarious tools and two counts of receiving stolen property. Jamaree Anthony Bonnette, 17, of 625 Parker St. Roxbury, and Asaad Anthony Eze, 17, of 689 Parker St., Roxbury, were arrested around the same time and place and charged with disorderly conduct.   • Shoplifted Shrimp – Colleen Leslie Worthen, 37, of 25 West Wyoming Ave., Apt 5, Melrose, was arrested around 2:45 p.m. near 155 Harvard St. and charged with shoplifting. Officers located Worthen on a bus stop bench after an employee at Stop & Shop pointed her out. Police say Worthen left the store with four bags of shrimp she had not paid for. Officer Donal Kerrigan made the arrest.
  • No License – Alejandro Esteves, 33, of 416 Belmont St., First Floor, Manchester, NH, was arrested around 10 a.m. near 1352 Beacon Street and charged with operating without a license. Officer Amy Hingston made the arrest.
Wednesday, Aug. 11
  • Career Shoplifter – Harry Walter Johnson, 66, of 650 Columbus Ave., Apt: 429, Boston, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. near 1324 Beacon St. and charged with two counts of shoplifting and one count of receiving stolen property. Police tracked Johnson down on a 66 bus after he was caught trying to leave the Beacon Street Walgreen's Pharmacy with several batteries tucked under his jacket. After searching him, police reportedly recovered several other items stolen from CVS, including five bottles of Oil of Olay cream. Police reported that Johnson had already been convicted of shoplifting on several occasions. Officer Michael Keaveney made the arrest.
Thursday, Aug. 12
  • Bad Call – David Michael Mazzarini, 56, of 17 Pitts St., Apt. 2, Natick, was arrested around 2 p.m. near 16 Buckminster Road and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, marked lane violation, open container of alcohol and expired inspection sticker.   • Alleged Peeper – Robert Emmett Higgins Jr., 50, of 1289 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton, was arrested around 2 a.m. near 89 Lawton St. and charged with unlawful secret recording, disorderly person, trespassing, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.   • Throwing a Fit – Natasha Andre Yisrael, 36, a resident of the Pine Street Inn on Berkley Street in Boston, was arrested around 8:30 a.m. near 1322 Beacon St. and charged with disorderly conduct and malicious damaging of property. Police were called to the Beacon Street CVS in Coolidge Corner on reports of a woman knocking over flowerpots and garbage cans in a fit of rage. Officers reportedly found Yisrael yelling and screaming in the midst of strewn trash and bits of potted plants in front of the store. Officer Ryan Lee made the arrest.
Saturday, Aug. 14
  • Drunk Driving – Ihor Vasil Havryliv, 23, of 196 Greenbrook Drive, Stoughton, was arrested around 3:15 a.m. near Horace James Circle and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger and operating under the influence. Police reportedly found Havryliv and a friend sitting next to their overturned car in Horace James Circle, a rotary off Hammond Street in South Brookline. Havryliv reportedly failed a field sobriety test conducted on the scene and later refused to take a breath test that would have measured his blood alcohol level. Police also found that his right to drive had been revoked and that he had two outstanding warrants in his name. Officer Robert Collins made the arrest
  • Road Rage Gone Too Far – Robert J. Nicosia, 66, of 96 Gainsborough St., 407 W, Boston, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. near Pond and Allerton avenues and charged with operating to endanger, disorderly conduct, trespassing, restricted way violation and marked lane violation. Sunday, Aug. 15
  • Vandalism – Michael Karl McNeil, 28, of 33 Bracket Street, Apt. 3, Boston, was arrested around midnight near 14 Roberts St. and charged with malicious destruction of property. Police believe McNeil smashed the rear light of a car parked on Robert St. Officer John Sullivan made the arrest.
