Brookline Ballot Cheat Sheet

Your guide to local candidates in the Sept. 14 primary.

You know that moment of dread that comes after you step into the polling booth and realize you don't recognize half the names on the ballot? Well, Brookline Patch has taken the anxiety out of Election Day by breaking down every local primary race, from state senate to district attorney, for our first Brookline Ballot Cheat Sheet.

We've called every candidate running against an opponent for office on Beacon Hill or Norfolk County to get the basics on their campaign. For those candidates running unopposed, we've just given their name and office for which they're running. And for those we couldn't reach, we sifted through campaign websites for information.

Our apologies to the Republicans and Libertarians of Brookline: Your local candidates are running unopposed or not running at all, so you won't find much on the Cheat Sheet. We'll see you in the general election in November.
