Brookline Man Accused of Robbing Route 9 Gas Station at Knifepoint
Suspect caught on tape fleeing robbery.

Brookline police have arrested a Juniper Street man in connection with an late last month.
John Thomas Lynch Jr., a 30-year-old man living at 8 Juniper St., was arrested Feb. 9 and charged with armed robbery, according to an arrest report. It was not immediately apparent how police connected Lynch to the robbery in late January.
According to a police report from the incident, Police responded to the at 25 Washington St. around 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 24 after a man walked up to a cash register, brandished a large knife and said, βGive me the cash.β A clerk reportedly cleared out the cash register and handed around $250 to the man, who then left out the front door and fled across Washington Street.

Police formed a perimeter around the area but was unable to find anyone who matched witnessesβ description of the robber. Detectives were also unable to lift prints from the cash register or front counter at the store.
Security cameras at the reportedly caught the suspect running through the building's main entrance on Washington Street and cutting through the parking garage and courtyard before climbing over a wall to a parking lot near 8 Juniper St. In the incident report, police noted that it appeared that the suspect βhad planned his escape route, or is familiar with the area.β
