Now in its sixth summer, Brookline Music School’s Beatles Summer Project will continue its tradition of recreating iconic Beatles albums with Abbey Road. A cast of forty talented vocalists and instrumentalists will come together for the performance on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 11:00am at the historic Coolidge Corner Theatre.

Each year, the Project brings together local musicians of all ages and skill levels to celebrate the Beatles by learning, rehearsing, and performing a featured Beatles album from start to finish. This year’s featured album is Abbey Road. Released in September 1969, the album celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and was the last studio recording the Beatles completed as a group.

John Purcell, Brookline Music School’s Jazz & Rock Ensemble Coordinator and Director of the Beatles Summer Project, is looking forward to reimagining the album this year. β€œ[We] did this album a few years ago,” said Purcell, β€œso I’m excited to take a new angle for this performance.”
