Brookline Village Cafe To Change Hands

For more than a decade folks in the village have popped in this spot for a reliable breakfast or a place to sit and study.

BROOKLINE, MA β€” The owners of Kookoo Cafe on Station Street in Brookline Village are selling the business.

"We’ve served over one and a half million customers during the past fourteen years and have a solid, wonderful business in Brookline Village. It breaks our hearts to say goodbye to our dear customers, some of whom have been there since day one, and half of them who we know by name, just like Cheers!," Elie Dunford co-owner of the coffee shop wrote in an email to Patch.

Lest you worry about what will happen to Kookoo, the couple say they've sold it to woman who has dreamed of owning a cafe.

She's been training in the space for the past two months, and she will be taking over the business at the end of January, according to Dunford.

"We have entrusted our little neighborhood cafe to her, and have encouraged all of our current staff - one of the best we’ve had in years - to stay with her for the new ride," said Dunford.

Dunford and her husband Ali Mohajerani have two businesses on Station Street, Kookoo and Inner Space, but will only be selling the cafe.
